Deck, Hull and Cockpit
The hull is Baltek balsa cored FRP (fiber reinforced plastic) above the waterline and solid FRP below the waterline and is constructed using alternate layers of mat and unidirectional e-glass applied to the mold using polyester and vinylester vacuum bagged resin. The hull is stiffened with athwart ship marine plywood bulkheads which are bonded to the hull with fiberglass and resin.
The one-piece deck mold is stiffened with end grain balsa core which is sandwiched between an inner and outer fiberglass skin and the hull to deck joint is mechanically fastened with stainless steel bolts and polyurethane adhesive.
