Description
Clean, Comfortable, Ready to Go!
Hunter sailboats are known for their spaciousness, comfort, and sailing ease. Sea-n-See is a stunning example of the aforementioned with the added benefit of meticulous care and attention to detail given by her current owners. Boasting a healthy list of upgrades including a robust fuel filtration system, Sea-n-See is a turn-key yacht ready right now for your next sailing adventures.
On deck all lines are led to the cockpit for safety and controllability. A new Mack Pack with lazy jacks secures the main sail to make setting and striking simple, and roller furling makes simple handling of the new (2023) 100% working jib. Back in the cockpit, you'll find plenty of deep storage lockers, seating for your whole crew, and ample shade under the bimini and forward spray dodger. All instruments are mounted at the helm station where the wheel has been treated with an attractive custom vinyl-dipped cover.
Moving below, the volume of space is impressive. A large salon with a convertible dining table takes center stage. The table can be used in the folded position, opened with the leaf for additional guests, or lowered into the settee to create a large berth or area to relax in front of the television. The versatility here is remarkable and unique to Hunter. To port, the L-shaped galley features solid surface Corian countertops, a double stainless sink, and a massive refrigerator and separate freezer. Both are top-opening, but the refrigerator also opens to the front, creating thoughtful access to items of all sizes--no more need to do headstands in the refrigerator to get items from the bottom! NOTE: the freezer is currently not operational. A three-burner CNG stove and microwave round out the cooking equipment, and all dishes and utensils are included. Storage for these is located in several drawers and cabinets, and there is even a teak-trimmed dishrack suspended from the cabin ceiling complete with extra lighting.
Moving aft from the galley is an immense aft cabin with a queen-size bed that is under the cockpit sole and turned athwartships to maximize the space and comfort at the dock or at anchor. This cabin has standing headroom for most people, even those over 6' tall. Two cedar-lined hanging lockers and storage compartments bookend the space, and the foot of the bed has shelving for additional items. A mirrored dressing area creates an attractive vestibule and several opening portlights provide a lot of ventilation. Attached to the cabin is the aft head, which is also accessible to the main cabin via an additional door. Here you will find angled mirrors, a separate shower compartment, and marine head with full standing head room all around.
Moving back to the main salon, the navigation station provides a properly sized work desk, access to all breakers and environmental controls, VHF and AM/FM stereo. There is even a custom teak bracket for moving the radar unit to the companionway opening during difficult navigation situations. The forward cabin includes another cedar-lined hanging locker, a dressing area, and access to additional water tankage. Adjacent to the forward head, this is a comfortable space for kids or guests.
Sea-n-See has been well maintained by her thoughtful owners during their tenure as evidenced by clean, professional installations of extra equipment, thorough stock of spare parts, and attention to detail during winter layup. Call for an appointment today!
Manufacturers Description:
The Hunter 40.5 was conceived as a comfortable cruising boat, and as in all Legend Series boats, a tough competitor too. She blends comfort, performance, and shorthanded sailing capabilities all in one package. Her powerful rig, swept back spreaders, and large mainsail enhance her performance, while the bulb-wing keel keeps her stable and shallow in draft. Special touches like a small furling headsail, single-line reefing, and sail flaking, make cruising the 40.5 so enjoyable. A wide-open cockpit, complete with table keep you comfortable in a seaway or on the hook. Down below, there is an incredible salon finished in rich fabrics, hand-rubbed teak and Corian counters. The L-shaped galley is truly workable including a dual-opening refrigerator and freezer, stove with oven, and even a dish rack complete with dishes. Accommodations are sumptuous and can handle a crew of six with her two-cabin layout. The Hunter 40.5 boasts 17 opening ports and enough dry storage to comfortably live aboard. From the innovative walk-through transom to the stainless anchor roller, no one provides a better-equipped or a more value-oriented, comfortable cruiser than the Hunter 40.5.

Patrick Kelly grew up on the west side of Cleveland, Ohio. After taking a local Learn to Sail class as a young teenager, he was hooked and has been on the water ever since. While attending The Ohio State University, he was a member of the sailing team, competing around the midwest. Boating has been a way of life for Patrick; he participates on several racing crews, and holds a USCG Master License. In addition, he is an FAA licensed commercial pilot.
When not racing, Patrick enjoys cruising around the great lakes with his partner Jennifer and their children. He volunteers his spare time to promote junior sailing programs, and enjoys watching his son sail on the Edgewater Yacht Club Junior Race Team.
Not only is Patrick a member of the RCR Team, he is also a customer, having purchased his boat through RCR a few years ago. "The expertise RCR provided when I made my boat purchase was impressive, and I hope to provide the same level of excellence to my customers."
