Description
Always innovating until the end, C&C set about building strong, durable hulls without their standard balsa coring in the 33-2. Instead, a robust structural "spider system" carried the hull loads and spread them out--the industry standard today. In addition to sturdy rod rigging, this produced a boat that was light, yet strong, and easy to sail in a wide range of weather conditions.
Many C&C owners were racers first and cruisers second--the designs fit so many needs. This boat began life as a racer for her first few years, but when sold to her current owner, she began a life of gentle cruising. This means none of the wear and tear of evening races around the buoys and weekend campaigns has taken a toll on Break Away! As one of the last 25% of the C&C production run, you get a gently sailed, later model that is priced attractively!

Patrick Kelly grew up on the west side of Cleveland, Ohio. After taking a local Learn to Sail class as a young teenager, he was hooked and has been on the water ever since. While attending The Ohio State University, he was a member of the sailing team, competing around the midwest. Boating has been a way of life for Patrick; he participates on several racing crews, and holds a USCG Master License. In addition, he is an FAA licensed commercial pilot.
When not racing, Patrick enjoys cruising around the great lakes with his partner Jennifer and their children. He volunteers his spare time to promote junior sailing programs, and enjoys watching his son sail on the Edgewater Yacht Club Junior Race Team.
Not only is Patrick a member of the RCR Team, he is also a customer, having purchased his boat through RCR a few years ago. "The expertise RCR provided when I made my boat purchase was impressive, and I hope to provide the same level of excellence to my customers."
