Description
"Flak" is a light and fast racer that was built at the Wiggers Yard in Whitby, Ontario, Canada as a high performance MORC yacht for day racing and crew berths for overnighting. It is well known in local racing circles for excellent performance in all conditions. The current owner has outfitted her with BRAND NEW sails. Not used. "Flak" also comes with a double axle storage trailer.
Builder: Wiggers Custom Yachts
Hull and Deck: Male Mold Construction, Vacuum Bagged, Foam Core and with Awlgrip Painted Finish
Engine: Volvo 2 Cylinder Diesel with V-drive and Flexo-Fold Propeller. New fuel lines, filter, pump and exhaust hose fall of 2020.
Mast and Boom: Custom, Triple Spreader Spar, Tapered and with Internal Stiffening and Check Stays, Rod Rigging and Tuff-Luff Foil. Boom is Max Panel Depth, Tapered and Internally Stiffened. Built by Sparcraft Custom Spars.
Spinnaker Pole: FORTE Carbon Spinnaker Pole
Deck Layout: Tiller Steering with Harken Rudder Bearings. Mainsheet Station after of Helmsman, with backstay and check stay course and fine trim controls. Forward of Helmsman are the primary winches and controls for the floating jib care and in/outhaul controls. Halyards and controls are led aft to the pit, down the center of the doghouse and engine cover doubles as a platform for the pit.
Below Deck: Open race interior, with centralized weight. Forepeak is open for sail storage, two settee berths, chart table on port side, small counter area on starboard side. Two pipe cots located under cockpit.
Electronics: Comprehensive Ockam Performance Sailing Package, VPP Program, Sailcomp Compass, B&G 213 Wind Unit, GPS Interface and Silva Depth Sounder. Four 005 Displays on aft face of cabin house and two Magnum Displays in Carbon bracket on Mast.
Rigging: Tapered Halyards and Sheets, Hi-Tech Controls, SK-99 Backstay and Check Stays, All professionally spliced and most new 2020.

Tim joined RCR Yachts in February 2014. He grew up in Youngstown, learning to sail in the Youngstown YC Jr. Sailing program. After leaving the area to attend Connecticut College and then work in New York City for 8 years, he decided to move home and follow his passion for boating. He actively races his J/70 “Junior” all over the country and locally as a member of the Youngstown Yacht Club, where he is on the board of directors. He is the co-chair of the CanAm Challenge that hosts a one-design regatta each July at YYC. Tim is also on the board for Sail America. He works out of the Youngstown and Buffalo offices and lives in Lewiston with his wife Aly and kids Cole & Louise.
