J/111

[/vc_column]

Every now and then, a sailboat comes along that really meets the needs of sailors —the J/111 is one of those boats. It’s a fast, 36-foot boat from J/Boats that’s great for day sailing, racing, and weekend trips. The J/111 is easy to handle, comfortable, and quick. It sails at 7+ knots upwind and reaches great speeds downwind. Its performance in different conditions has been impressive.

Comfortable Cockpit

Sailors spend most of their time in the cockpit, and the J/111 makes this space comfortable and practical. There’s enough seating for six people, and each seat has a backrest for added comfort. The layout makes it easy to move around, with a floor-mounted traveler and foot braces in just the right spots. The open back of the boat makes it easy to get in and out. The large 60” wheel lets the driver sit comfortably on either side of the boat, while still being able to see the sails and waves. Plus, all the main controls are placed near the wheel, so the driver can adjust the mainsail, traveler, and backstay without leaving the helm. There’s also an optional dodger that gives extra protection from the weather, so you can enjoy sailing longer.

Spacious Interior

Below deck, the J/Boats‘ J/111 is set up for comfort on short trips and overnight stays. The main cabin has an open layout with an L-shaped kitchen, a nav station, a wet locker, and two long settee berths. If you need extra sleeping space, there are fold-up sea-berths available. The boat can comfortably fit six people for dinner. It also has two spacious aft quarter berths, a private bathroom at the front, and a removable V-berth.

Less Crew, More Fun

Sailboats that are easier to sail are used more often. The J/111 makes sailing simpler. For example, just two people can easily handle setting, jibing, and dropping the spinnaker, which would usually need 5-6 people on a traditional sailboat. Thanks to its mainsail on slides, furling jib, and a large wheel that’s easy to control, you can be out sailing in minutes.

This boat makes sailing with friends fun and easy. Whether you’re racing to Mackinac, sailing solo to Bermuda, or cruising along the Baja coast with a full crew, the J/111 gives you the confidence to sail comfortably in any situation.
