Overview
Beneteau’s new 37-foot boat builds on the latest features of the seventh generation of Oceanis Cruisers. The Beneteau Oceanis 37.1 is the eighth model introduced since 2017, and it has all the key features of the line, plus improved eco-friendly sailing.
EXTERIOR DESIGN
The outdoor space is wide open, thanks to the absence of back stays. This layout was successful on the Oceanis 30.1 and Oceanis 34.1. The large double spreaders on the Oceanis 37.1 ensure great performance.
To make sailing easier with a smaller crew, all the rigging is brought back to the two aft winches. Only the halyards stay grouped on the coach roof. The instruments, including a 7-inch plotter, are all found on the starboard helm console.
INTERIOR DESIGN
The Beneteau Oceanis 37.1 offers plenty of space inside. The saloon is almost as big as those in 40-foot boats. It is on the port side, with a sofa for relaxing and a comfortable table for six people. This faces the galley, which runs lengthwise. There are four interior options: two cabins with one head, two cabins with one head and a shower, three cabins with one head, and three cabins with two heads.
The forward cabin has stunning views of the horizon through two large portholes in the hull. In the two-bathroom version, the bed is positioned against the starboard hull and is very spacious. The stern area is also very comfortable. In the standard version, there’s a king-size double bed, and a large sail locker is accessible both inside and outside.
INTELLIGENT SUSTAINABLE DESIGN
Two Versions
The standard version comes with a self-tacking jib, making it easy to handle. However, sailors who enjoy more active sailing will appreciate the First Line version, which includes a square-top mainsail and Genoa.
Teak Replacement
Iroko, a durable African wood, replaces teak. Beneteau uses this wood for the cockpit decking through a special process called Iro-Deck. This provides a uniform color, great durability, and prevents cracks that can appear in solid wood decks.
Electric Engine Option
The Beneteau Oceanis 37.1 also offers an electric engine with a 12 kW pod and 10 kilowatt-hour batteries. This makes it perfect for cruising on inland waterways, offering quiet, carbon-free sailing.
