Description
Step aboard this timeless beauty, the1984 Catalina 30 Tall Rig, and embark on unforgettable sailing adventures. With its spacious layout, sturdy construction, and remarkable performance, this Catalina 30 offers an incredible experience for sailors of all skill levels. Whether you're a seasoned sailor or a beginner, this classic sailboat will impress you with its reliability and comfort, and cleanliness!
Catalina long ago perfected the maximization of interior spaces, proven by 6,400+ Catalina 30's built since 1976. The Catalina 30's interior is designed to maximize comfort and livability. The generous headroom, well-appointed cabin, and ample storage space make extended stays on board a pleasure. Throughout the cabin, warm, rich teak trim abounds--a feature that is rarer to find. A V-berth forward sleeps two comfortably on an upgraded, 4" thick mattress. The aft berth is equally spacious, and allows storage and tank access beneath.
The galley to port has been upgraded to include a front-opening refrigerator, microwave, two burner stove, and double sink. Ample counter space ensures a safe prep area for meals. Across and to starboard of the galley, is a chart table with modular storage beneath, open, clear access to 12v and 120V system controls, and a build in trash receptacle, boxed in elegant teak.
The main salon is open and airy with a table that folds forward, providing dining space for a full crew, or an open berthing or relaxing area. Storage and tankage below the settees is easily accessed, as is the new Beta Marine 20 diesel engine. Betas are known for their simplicity, reliability, and ease of maintenance, and this engine has a whole lifetime ahead of it! Forward of the main salon is the head, with integrated shower, mirror, and teak trim.
On deck, take advantage of the taller rig--70 additional square feet of sail area over the standard Catalina 30 sail plan provides enhanced performance and speed. The sail inventory includes a main and 130% jib, both in very good condition. The cockpit provides comfortable seating, good visibility, and access to all sail controls without the need to go on deck, and a bimini provides shade on the sunny days.
Disclosures:
Forward keel "smile" could use a re-caulking, and a small area of the port side rub rail needs to be rebedded. Owner removed the teak surrounding the companionway for refinishing; pieces need to be reinstalled.
All reasonable offers will be considered!

Patrick Kelly grew up on the west side of Cleveland, Ohio. After taking a local Learn to Sail class as a young teenager, he was hooked and has been on the water ever since. While attending The Ohio State University, he was a member of the sailing team, competing around the midwest. Boating has been a way of life for Patrick; he participates on several racing crews, and holds a USCG Master License. In addition, he is an FAA licensed commercial pilot.
When not racing, Patrick enjoys cruising around the great lakes with his partner Jennifer and their children. He volunteers his spare time to promote junior sailing programs, and enjoys watching his son sail on the Edgewater Yacht Club Junior Race Team.
Not only is Patrick a member of the RCR Team, he is also a customer, having purchased his boat through RCR a few years ago. "The expertise RCR provided when I made my boat purchase was impressive, and I hope to provide the same level of excellence to my customers."
