Detailed Description
Cockpit and deck
Tranquilo’s cockpit is equipped for both sailing and relaxing aboard, with a cockpit table, folding steering wheel, helm cover, cockpit shower, and a large lazarette. The dodger, bimini, connector, lined dodger cover, and full enclosure were replaced in 2025. Clear panels, screens, and shades provide flexible protection from weather, insects, and sun.
A stern swim platform and boarding ladder provide convenient water access. Custom Cato Marine davits have new block and tackle from 2025 and offer a handling system for a future tender.
Anchoring equipment includes a 55 lb Rocna Mark II anchor with 160 feet of G4 high-test chain and a snubber, handled by a Lewmar V3 electric windlass. A Fortress backup anchor carries 150 feet of three-strand nylon rode. A Banner Bay Marine Tri-Delta riding sail helps reduce swinging at anchor, while an ATN Dorcap wind scoop provides ventilation and can remain deployed in rain.
Sailing and navigation
Designed by Glenn Henderson and the Hunter Design Team, this Hunter 36 has a B&R fractional sloop rig, a Selden in-mast furling mast, and a Selden Rodkicker rigid vang. Her Quantum furling mainsail and 100% foam-luff jib are lightly used and reported in excellent condition. A Harken headsail furler completes the sail-handling arrangement. The rig has received recent professional inspection and tuning.
Navigation equipment includes an AIS transceiver with send-and-receive capability, radar, GPS chartplotter, compass, wind instruments, depth sounder, speed/log instruments, and VHF radio. The autopilot includes a wireless remote. A stereo with interior speakers is also aboard.
Accommodations and galley
The two-cabin, one-head interior offers private sleeping accommodations forward and aft, with a central salon featuring settee and dinette seating. Updated salon cushions and foam, together with a new aft-cabin mattress in 2025, improve comfort aboard. Air conditioning and heat extend the boat’s usefulness across the cruising season, and recent LED lighting improvements brighten the cabins and salon. Note: No Vee Berth Cushions included.
The galley includes a Force 10 two-burner stove and oven with broiler, microwave, 12V front-opening refrigerator and freezer, and a pull-out faucet. Freshwater capacity is 75 gallons, with a tank-level monitor and a new interior freshwater pump installed in 2026.There is also a cabinet with powered vent to dry dishes after washing.
The head is equipped with a Raritan freshwater-flush marine toilet and a wall-mounted shower head on a long hose. The shower sump pump was replaced in 2025. Hot water is supplied by a water heater operating from shore power or engine heat, and the approximately 30-gallon holding tank has a level monitor.
Mechanical and electrical systems
Auxiliary power comes from a 29 hp Yanmar 3YM30 diesel driving a straight shaft and three-blade bronze Flex-O-Fold folding propeller. Reported engine hours are approximately 1,480. The owner reports a cruising speed of approximately 6 knots under power. Max speed is 7.5 Knots.
A comprehensive service in January 2025 included new motor mounts, propeller shaft, cutlass bearing, dripless shaft seal, alternator, engine coolant pump, and drive belts. The injectors and stainless exhaust elbow were serviced, and the heat exchanger was ultrasonically cleaned. Other improvements include oversized bronze raw-water strainers and a Parker Racor fuel filter with a clear inspection bowl. The 38-gallon fuel tank was professionally cleaned in 2024.
Three Victron Super Cycle AGM house batteries provide 375 Ah of capacity and were installed in 2025. Two shade-tolerant LG solar panels, each with a dedicated Victron controller, were added in 2024. Shore-power connections have been upgraded to two 30-amp SmartPlug inlets, and the 12V charging equipment has been replaced. A Honda EU2000i Companion portable generator is included.
