Description
Catalina Yachts have always led the pack in creating voluminous interior space across models of all lengths, and upon its introduction, the Catalina 400 became the company’s flagship cruiser. *Sail Away* is a nicely equipped and well-maintained two-cabin version — the most desirable layout thanks to the generous aft stateroom this configuration affords.
**On Deck**
The twin helm configuration provides additional comfort and visibility suited to the boat’s wide beam. The cockpit features a custom varnished mahogany table with folding leaves, offering a comfortable gathering space while housing instrumentation in easy view of the helm. A full set of cockpit cushions, a full bimini, and a dodger add to the comfort. Deck space is ample and clean — all lines lead to the cockpit for easier management, and an in-mast furling mainsail and furling genoa make sail handling simple.
**Below Decks**
The interior is warmly trimmed in honey-colored teak. To starboard, a large U-shaped galley is equipped with a molded countertop, a large top- and front-access refrigerator and freezer, a three-burner propane stove and oven, and a microwave. To port, a proper navigation station provides access to systems breakers and storage.
The aft stateroom features a full queen-sized island berth on centerline with storage and hanging lockers on both sides, a dressing area with vanity mirror, and an aft head that can be configured as an en suite to the stateroom or used as a day head.
The large central salon is a comfortable place to relax, dine, or entertain. New gas struts allow the table to be lowered to create an additional double berth, and plentiful storage and natural light complete the space. A spacious forward cabin with private head and shower provides comfortable accommodations for guests.
