Detailed Description
Wave Dancer represents a rare opportunity to purchase a one-owner Sabre 34 Mark II with a known history from new. She has spent her entire life on Lake Ontario and is currently located at Sodus Bay Yacht Club.
Sabre’s 34 Mark II combines traditional Maine-built quality with a hull and sail plan designed to provide an excellent balance of cruising comfort and sailing performance. Wave Dancer was raced for a few years, but never subjected to an aggressive racing program. Her extensive sail inventory and complete spinnaker equipment still give a new owner the opportunity to race her, while her condition and equipment make her equally appealing as a Great Lakes cruising boat.
Her sail inventory includes a mainsail, heavy No. 1, roller-furling No. 2, No. 3, blade No. 4 and two spinnakers. Full spinnaker gear is included.
Auxiliary power is provided by a Westerbeke diesel with 1,134 hours. The owner has changed the engine oil every year as part of the boat’s annual maintenance and winterization program. An extra-large Racor fuel filter provides additional fuel filtration capacity.
A two-blade feathering Max-Prop provides efficient motoring while reducing drag when sailing.
The electrical system includes three batteries — one dedicated starting battery and two house batteries.
On deck, Wave Dancer is equipped with a manual anchor windlass along with a bimini and dodger for cockpit protection and comfort.
Below, the galley retains an ice box rather than refrigeration, keeping the system simple and avoiding the electrical demands and maintenance associated with refrigeration.
A particularly valuable part of this offering is the large collection of tools, spare parts and miscellaneous equipment that has accumulated during decades of ownership. For a buyer intending to maintain and cruise the boat, this inventory provides a useful head start.
The boat is equipped with radar; however, the radar has not been used in several years and its current operating condition is unknown. Buyers should consider the radar untested and verify its operation if it is important to them.
Overall, Wave Dancer presents extremely well. She is clean, organized and obviously cared for. Pride of ownership shows throughout the boat.
