From my childhood in Waterford, Ireland until today, boats have always been a big part of my life. At 13, I left school to join my family on fishing boats. My first boat was 20 feet long with an outboard engine. From there, I started fishing on larger boats. I completed my Captain’s license at the age of 20. At 21, I started both pole fishing and long line fishing tuna in Australia. A year later I returned to Ireland and fished the coasts of my homeland. In 1997, Boston became my new home. Fishing on larger trollers, gained me more experience in the boating industry. While there, I delivered a 65 foot vessel across the Atlantic to Kinsale, Ireland. She was a sister ship to the well known Andrea Gale from the movie “The Perfect Storm”. Several years later, I delivered an 80 foot vessel from Dingle to Ensenada, Mexico via the Panama Canal. That was a six week adventure. Fishing and boating also brought me to Central America, the West Coast of the United States, the Florida and Texas coasts, Cuba, and Western Africa. As my family grew and I wanted to spend more time with my young sons, I went into seafood sales. My regions included the Great Lakes. Other then my family, my love of boating and being on the water is where I feel most at home.
